On the site of the present-day Tashkent — the capital of Uzbekistan, was the ancient city of Chach, which used to be one of the main point throughout the Great Silk Road. Chach was famous for dancers, especially different from others with its grace and plasticity. A Chach grandee sends gifts to Chinese princess in order to establish diplomatic relations. Among the gifts there were also those wonderful dancers depicted in the picture.
In an archaeological excavation a Chach dancer wooden sculpture was found. Inspired by its grace, I decided to paint this picture.
