Traveling along the French Riviera, the artist heard a beautiful legend about the creation of the area where the city of Menton is located and about its symbol - lemon. Eve, who was driven out of the paradise along with Adam, took away a golden fruit. Adam, being feared of the God's anger, asked her to throw the fruit away. Having passed mountains, valleys and plains, they noticed the Gulf of Garavan, one of the Menton's regions today. The picturesque bay, soft climate and luxuriant vegetation - everything reminded Eve of the sweetness of Eden. She left the lemon there. A small paradise was born in this place. Having arrived in the city, he became convinced that the legend does not exaggerate at all – the amazing subtropical climate, magnificent sea, majestic sun-drenched mountains, unique gardens and paradise plants, chic villas and snow-white yachts prompted the artist to start writing etudes immediately. One of them was embodied in this picture. The magnificent individual author's style lets the work come alive and helps the viewer to enjoy the beauties of the city live.
