Chaykhan is a tea-maker, the owner of the Chaykhana. Chaykhana (from Chinese cha-yeh - tea in leaves and Persian xane - room) - Tea House in Iran and Central Asia.
In the past, in large cities, the teahouse was located next to the caravanserai, and represented a complete resemblance to modern hotels, with the provision of additional services - food and tea. In Chaykhana the locals met travellers, merchants and scientists and learned the latest news about life in other countries, papers were made, trade deals were concluded.
Nowadays Chaykhana is one of the most popular and visited places after the mosque in Central Asia. Currently, Central Asian culture, like any other, is gradually diverging around the world with its carriers. Today chaykhana can be found in many cities of the world.
Tea houses are present in other parts of Central Asia, notably also in Turkey. Such tea houses may be referred to, in Persian, as Chay-Khaneh, or in Turkish, çayhane—literally, the "house of tea". These tea houses usually serve several beverages in addition to tea.
